We are seeking a skilled and experienced OB/GYN Coder and Billing Specialist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of OB/GYN coding and billing procedures, including hospital surgeries, deliveries, and the ability to navigate OB/GYN billing guidelines efficiently. This position requires a detail-oriented professional who can accurately manage coding and billing tasks to ensure the smooth processing of claims and reimbursement for OB/GYN services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately code and bill for OB/GYN services, including hospital surgeries, deliveries, and outpatient procedures, using appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
- Ensure compliance with OB/GYN-specific billing guidelines and regulations to avoid denials, rejections, and delays in payment.
- Submit, track, and manage insurance claims for OB/GYN services, following up on unpaid or denied claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Review medical records and documentation to ensure all necessary information is present for accurate coding and billing, and communicate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies.
- Stay updated on changes in OB/GYN coding and billing regulations, ensuring that all billing practices are in compliance with federal, state, and payer-specific guidelines.
- Generate and analyze billing reports to identify trends, errors, and opportunities for improving coding and billing processes.
- Work closely with the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure accurate and efficient coding and billing practices.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in OB/GYN coding and billing, with a strong understanding of hospital surgeries and deliveries.
- In-depth knowledge of OB/GYN billing guidelines, ICD-10, CPT codes, and appropriate modifiers.
- Degree related to OB/GYN or equivalent work experience in OB/GYN coding and billing.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing tasks.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with healthcare providers and insurance companies.
- Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) with a focus on OB/GYN.
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) and billing software.
